Sun Pillar?

I was up early today...as usual here at the Elliott house and spotted this amazing sunrise over the lake. I posted the shot at Flickr and Chris from Design Digitals replied with this about the streak of light coming up from the middle of the sun:

Is it a sun pillar - I'm not clever, just looked it up!From ‘Peterson Field Guides: Atmosphere’: The pillar is produce by thin hexagonal plates floating in the air with their largest dimension horizontal. The rays of the sun are reflected from the top surface of one to the bottom surface of another, reinforcing the rays in a vertical direction

Jack's mannequin

This little guy has been in our family for years. Jack takes the time each day to change the location and or pose of the mannequin. It is such a surprise to see what pose he'll be in each day.

And the Oscar goes to!

ME!!! Last year I was presented with an "Oscar" for all the fun I had in editing photos and video footage for the Scout troop. I helped the boys put together mini movies to show at the court of honor! They really surprised me by presenting me with not only the golden oscar complete with my name engraved, but those glam glam glasses too! I still have them if anyone wants to borrow them!

Ahh...hot cocoa. I'm here working on a little video for the swim team. I'm capturing video footage to be used in Pinnacle studio. On the tape is some footage from our move to Minnesota! When I am done with the swim team video, I would like to get started editing some of the other movie footage that I have! ( 15plus years of it!). It is so fun to watch the old stuff!

Swim season sections championship

The Buffalo Bison swim team competed in the sections semi-championship on Friday night. Thursday night they shaved heads and legs in various levels from completely bald to mohawks. These guys are funny! Here is the team captain showing off his new doo! The boys did it all by themselves without adult supervision! The results of the meet were excellent. Times were cut by 10 to 15 seconds each! Go Bison!

POTD keeping it going

Ali Edwards started me on the idea of a Photo a Day and now a group at Designer Digitals is doing it too! I worked all day and didn't have my camera with me, but I did come home to some really spring looking tulips...even though it is only 8 degrees here right now! February is such a great time for tulips! XOXO

This eclipse is incredible!

Lunar Eclipse tonight and boy is it amazing... The sky here is so clear and the stars are sparkling. The reflection of the moon on the snow is magical! I've been taking a few photos, but the results are marginal. Here is one...looked crystal clear in the viewfinder, but very blurry in the photo! You'd think with all this expensive equipment, I could get a decent photo!

Baby it's cold outside

We woke up to this today! Yes you are reading that correctly... 15.7 below! It is so darn cold. The wind is blowing and we had some flurries too. I worked from home today and put some ideas together for a web-site! Nice not to have to get in the car!
